IFL 2nd Quarter - High Stakes 40K Tournament and Cook-Out

Spreading the word about my NoVA based gaming groups tournament.  We are hoping to run many events this year and make 2013 a strong year for us.  Not all events will be 40K related as we are a gaming group just getting into Warmachine as well.  If you want to join the conversations you can find us on our forums at http://www.ironfistleague.com/Forums.aspx

    Come out to the IFL High Stakes 40K Tourney and Cook-Out

So here is the format (borrowed from Brent at the Inner Circle):
There is a $20 buy-in for the event (includes lunch). Each game you play has a $10 dollar gift card riding on it ($5 from each player's buy-in) and each wins $5 if you tie - the rest of the buy-in ($5 per player) will go to the prize pool. At the end of three rounds the pool (plus 10% for prize support) will be divided between three winners at the end of the day, Overall, Best General, and Best Painted.

Time: 2 hours and 30 min
Points: 1850
Format: Battle points 

Top Dogs:
Best Overall: Highest combined score (battle points and painting)
Best General: Most battle points
Best Painted: Most painting points (Army will be scored by three judges using a rubric and final score will be the average of three judges scores)

Sportsmanship:
We will be using the Adepticon method. One of three marks can be awarded, Positive, Average, and Negative. Two negative marks and you will be enjoying the rest of that tasty hot dog from the sidelines in the parking lot. If you award somebody a negative the TO or judge will be talking to you and validating that the mark was warranted. As always the TO has the final say. That is just a long way of saying "Be your normal 40K NOVA community selves and we will all have a good time."

The 40K FAQ:
As this is one week before Adepticon we will be using the INAT for the FAQ. In the event they do not have it posted we will be using the fall back of the NOVA FAQ, and of course the GW FAQs as well.
     
The missions pack:
Will be posted by end of February.

Spots for the event:
We have 28 spots ATM, if the wait list gets to 6 or more we will try to make arrangements for more space.

Also feel free to come by where we play any Tuesday night at Brittany's Sports Bar. We are there usually playing from 3PM to 10PM. You can give your registration fee to me "Jeff P." or any of the three council members (Purdune, Shrinedawg, and Madd Mike). Also bring your army by for a little throw down or just hangout and have a beer with us.
