We are soooooooo slooooow

Picked up my Necron codex last night and looking over some of the things at a glance and there are a few things about this dex that stick out quickly.

1. Necrons will not have an easy time with AV 13-14.  There are many things in the list that have high strength weapon but there is only 1 Melta type weapon, and only 3 units with weapons above Str 8 (one of which is a one shot).  Going to be interesting shenanigans to figure out a break fix for this short coming.

2. Necrons blow in close combat.  An you know it's true when in the "Why collect a Necron Army" of the dex it even calls out that Necrons suck in close combat.  This army is going to be a finesse movement/shooting army, but with all transports costing 80+pts it's not going to be in a parking lot style movement army.

3. So slow.  Beyond the C'tan (Inn 4) every single unit in the book is Inn 2.  This means you are going to have to take punishment from your enemy in close combat way before you get to even do your attacks.  There are a few things you can do to counter this, Wraiths come with whip coils which make B2B models inn 1.  Sticking to terrain and hope for non frag units to go last.  Defense grenade cryptek added measn you can reduce the charge dmg from multiple attacks.   In the end though these are bandaids to the blaring issue of.  Necrons suck in close combat.

More to come as I absorb more of this codex.  Should be an interesting ride to say the least.
